Anaithu Grama Anna Marumalarchi Thittam (AGAMT – II)

Anaithu Grama Anna Marumalarchi Thittam–II (AGAMT-II) is relaunched to ensure holistic development of all habitations in every panchayat in the State through equitable distribution of resources. It is being implemented in a phased manner over a period of five years, from 2021-22 to 2025-26. The scheme is designed to address critical infrastructural needs and comprehensive development by leveraging and converging schemes across 16 line departments towardsbetter impact on rural people.

 

Under AGAMT-II, equal numbers of village panchayats (around 20%) are selected every year at the block level, thereby consequently at district and state levels. The percentages are worked out to ensure the selection of 20% village panchayats while keeping the outlay around Rs.1200 crore per year. By this method, village panchayats have been selected for five years.

For Performance Incentive Fund, the Village Panchayats are assessed based on 9 criteria and it is sanctioned by the District Collector in proportion to the number of parameters achieved.

Work Categories

          Under Anaithu Grama Anna Marumalarchi Thittam–II various infrastructure works like Rejuvenation of Water Bodies, Creation and Upgradation of Streets and Lanes in Habitation, Creating Infrastructure facilities to the burial ground which are proposed as Samathuva Burial Ground, Village Panchayat Offices, Anganwadi Buildings, Public Distribution shops, Shandies, Village Haats, Fish Markets, Storage Godown, Threshing floor, Fish Drying Yard are taken up.

Comprehensive Habitation Survey

The Infrastructure Gap Survey was conducted in all the habitations by a survey team consisting of officials, PLF members and village panchayat Presidents. Based on the gaps, infrastructure works are categorised into two broad categories (1) Funded by AGAMT, (2) Convergence with Rural Development Schemes and (3) Convergence with 16 Line Departments to achieve saturation mode in theimplementation of the schemes.
